Another attempted robbery in traffic at CMS...man shares his story
A LIB read shares his experience below...
On my way to work this morning; at exactly 6:30am, after I drove down Akpongbo heading towards the Ajah park bus stop area, where the lanes merge to two; there was traffic on the road because of an obstruction by the road builders. There was a man walking on the side of the road. At first when I saw him from afar, I suspected because I've heard so much about the robbers at CMS. My Window was half way down; We exchanged indirect glances and he walked past.
The next second, he walks towards my window telling me to bring out the money and my phones; putting his hand inside the waist of his trouser like he wanted to bring out a gun. I was so surprised and i had to act fast so I uttered 'chairman abeg' while stepping on the accelerator, hitting the car in front of me twice. That was when the criminal ran away. The front of the car was damaged in the process. I would have lost my phone and watch which cost about $12,000 combined. But I thank God. I just want to use this opportunity to advise everyone that passes the CMS route and other notorious areas to be very careful; if anyone approaches your window in traffic, make sure you hit the car in front of you without wasting time because the person in front of you would come down and they would flee; when you get to traffic, dont put your car on park so you can easily step on the accelerator. I also want to apologise to the guy in front of me (Honda CRV) for allowing me hit him, God bless you. We are our own police. Attached are the pictures of the car after the incident. It's still better to spend money repairing your car than dashing robbers. Have a wonderful week everyone. God bless.
